I'm just wondering what The Cup of Linux prefers as their mobile Operating System. Feel free to leave any comments!

I actually own a WindowsPhone (7!) which was a really bad mistake :D
Can't say much about Ubuntu touch. I don't like the unity interface on my desktop, but it might be really cool on a smartphone. Nevertheless I voted for Android, since you can't be sure about Ubuntu...

i've been on android for nearly two years now, and quite honestly i can't wait to get back to a phone that just makes calls, sends texts, maybe takes a photo or two, and doesn't need recharging every bleedin' day.

:)

Cheers!

Hi dolphintoad.
I felt the same way as you and I downgraded from an HTC Desire HD to a simple Nokia 301, a basic phone with a camera.
My HTC had an old version of Android anyway and they would not upgrade it.
I lasted a month without a smartphone. I realised that I missed all favourite apps, such as train times, bus times, twitter traffic reports and lots of others.
It was too much. I finally got myself a Samsung S4 Mini - and I love it.

I'm kind of biased atm, the only smart phone I've ever used is the one I'm using now. A Windows Phone, dev unlocked to run 8.1
My next phone will definitely have to be a Nexus, set to dualboot with Ubuntu Touch.
Laptop: HP Pavilion 15t, quadboot Obarun Linux, macOS 10.13, TrueOS, Windows 10

For me it is either an Android Phone or an Apple Phone.

Much like Will, I have a tablet for all that sort of stuff. I want my phone to just be a phone!
(I'm an old-fashioned chap, hehe!)

Carrying a tablet around in public and actually using it, is not an ideal situation and can be quite awkward to handle in my opinion. I use the tablet for films, etc and for reading my Kindle books that have colour, but usually when I'm relaxing at home.

The little Nokia 301 is a brilliant basic mobile phone. I gave it to my stepdaughter as a spare while her iPhone is getting repaired. She's quite impressed with it.

The little Samsung S4 Mini is ideal for me

As a Windows Phone user for quite a while now, I think that my preferred mobile operating system is Windows Phone. The user interface is simple to use, and it won't lag as bad as Android. Honestly, Windows Phone deserves more market share, but it is of course entitled to the user's opinion.
OSes I currently use: Windows 8.1, Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.04 (on a 16GB USB drive)

At the present time I don't see Android being beaten by the competition any time soon.

No, I'm pretty sure Blackberry will make a comeback. 90% market share, yeah. Oh and Apple will just disappear, and no one will remember it. Definitely... lol
