Today we will talk about the changes coming to LastPass, but also raise some questions about their privacy policy and who has access to the data inside your password manager. We will look at KeePassXC and BitWarden as alternatives.

I made the switch around 2019 to KeePassXC, been awesome so far! About the only thing missing for some people is cloud syncing functionality, but Bitwarden can do that if you need that feature. I like having the database file offline/not synced to the cloud, just good old copy/paste between phone and PC, dating the edits I made and sync manually.

Bitwarden is better designed but it only works if you have an account with them or self-host a server for it as far as I know. No offline database management which is pretty much the only reason I don't use it.
