New to Manjaro
« on: January 14, 2021, 11:47:23 AM »
Hello everyone!

After a few years of using linux I've finally found a distribution I like. I think It's time to say "I'm using arch, btw", but meh. Never knew much about arch linux before but now decided to try it out and I really enjoy it.

But I do have a question, which might be quite strange, but how to remove steam from the system? I remember when I tried to uninstall it on a VM using

Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -R steamI've deleted the whole system. Maybe I did something wrong back then. As I remember all distributions which come with preinstalled packages using sort of "distro metapackage" and deleting something preinstalled will also delete all other necessary for the system packages ???

I'm not playing much, so I don't need it on my system and the only place where I think I can ask this is COL forum. :D

sudo pacman -Rs steam-manjarowill remove steam and it's dependencies. There are 2 versions in the manjaro repo.

Windows assumes the user is an idiot... Linux DEMANDS Proof!

Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -Rs steam-native
or
Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -Rs steam-manjaro
will remove steam and it's dependencies. There are 2 versions in the manjaro repo.

Awesome, thank you, Spatry!
