PCLinuxOS How Do You Get The Shared Folder Working
« on: January 03, 2020, 01:42:12 PM »
Now that I got PCLinuxOS working in VirtualBox with the Guest Additions.  I can't seem to get the Shared folder to work right.  The owner is Root.  I looked around with Google, but I can't seem to find anything explaining to me how to properly change the permissions like you do with a Deb based Distro.

This is how I do it on a Deb Based Distro.
Code: [Select]
sudo usermod -a -G vboxsf yourusername
sudo chown -R yourusername:users /media/

This is how you do it on Arch:
Code: [Select]
sudo usermod -a -G vboxsf yourusername sudo chown -R yourusername:users /media/
The only way I can open the shared folder is to open the file manager go to /media/ and then open sf_Share as root.

I've been messing around with this.  Just as I got done writing this post it started working.  I don't know what I did!
