dcaenc DTS Setup Question
« on: October 10, 2018, 08:14:15 AM »
Hey All

I've been troublshooting for the better part of the night and am out of ideas on how to configure my dcaenc setup for my arctis pro headset, its producing a loud buzz when i enable a digital profile in pavucontrol that isn't stereo.

Here is what ive done so far:

installed dcaenc as stated in the arch wiki

my /etc/asound.conf
"# Use PulseAudio by default
pcm.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
  hint {
    show on
    description "Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)"
  }
}

ctl.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
}

# vim:set ft=alsaconf:
<confdir:pcm/dca.conf>"

The card and device i wish to use output of aplay -l

"card 2: XC4905 [XC-4905], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0"

The profile i am attempting to use

"DigitalSurround 5.1 IEC958/DTS Output"

Im using an arctis pro headset with gamedac connected to a usb sound card capable of 5.1 and 7.1 via an optical cable.

Kind Regards

Ryan

Maybe You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login might help? Possibly a driver issue? This is all new stuff for me, I use normal stereo headphones, I was completely unaware that they now make headphones which support full surround sound LOL.

Well, virtual surround sound spat for headset :P...the analogue version works ok but my headset has a DTS function which i'd like to get working :-)
