mCOLe RELEASE CYCLE
« on: May 18, 2016, 04:29:32 PM »
Thanks to packaging and other methods to simplify production, I am pleased to announce that mCOLe will go on a MONTHLY release cycle. This will prevent issues with updates failing because of keyring issues. This announcement is specific to mCOLe only and does not affect the release schedule of Manjaro. The FIRST monthly release begins JUNE 1, 2016 and will have some nice new features:
  • minor bugfixes
  • menu color fix for chromium
  • mCOLe boot screens on the live media
  • custom mCOLe GTK 3.20 themes
  • custom mCOLe plymouth boot-splash
Boot-Screens
Plymouth Theme
A lot of hard work is into going into mCOLe to make this the one of the best beginner friendly rolling release distributions!

You can choose ANY kernel you want with the kernel utility. To Keep mCOLe compatible with Virtualbox I am shipping with kernel 4.1 LTS

Haha, then again does anything Ubuntu arrive on time? Joking of course. They have met some of their release schedules on time, but I totally know what you mean.

In their wisdom, the "Manjaro tools" developer does not want Manjaro to turn into another "Ubuntu" with it's countless spins. The tools now prevent me from including software I built myself which makes my distribution unique. This unfortunately STOPPED mCOLe production. I do not have the time to devote to being an official Manjaro package maintainer just so I can have my unique software in my distributions.

Someone last night offered to take over mCOLe production on the mumble server and I will speak with him later about how he would handle the problem.

Ben Fitzpatrick wants to take over maintenance of mCOLe. I am all for it! Because we cannot ship our own packages with the release, Ben has a system where people can use scripts from his github pages... Since I am unable to devote time to the project, I will put it in his capable hands.

I'm glad you're still finding ways to keep this running after all these years.

OK OK... the punishment is 50 lashes with a wet noodle, then we will shove paper thin bamboo shoots under your toenails and then take you on a 10 mile walk! Welcome Back!

This is all preferable to seeing those swimsuit photos again.
