I've tried to make one many times. no luck. The wiki says use blastbits but I think that's only on Foresight Linux.

Have you tried a simple DD command?

Code: [Select]
DD bs=4M if=path/to/iso of=/dev/usbdrive
this has worked for me with quite a few different distros

all out of ideas then, seems to be a pretty dated distro though, last update I can see is from 2013 unless I'm missing something

Well, there is 1 thing that confuses me about foresight-linux.
It isn't an independant one, right? Because in their wiki i found a guide on how to turn CentOS into ForesightLinux. replaces yum with Conary and stuff.

That is an odd way to install a Linux Distro.

You can do the same in BSD.  PC-BSD has guides on how to turn FreeBSD in to True OS and PC-BSD.  You may consider doing it that way.  There are a few reasons you might, in your case it seems to be the only viable option.  If you're bored, that could eat up some free time (that's why I'd do something like that LOL).  It could be good prep for making your own distro too (so like a distro that sits between CentOS and Foresight).  All that being said though, Trisquel is really the only relatively current FSF endorsed distro out there, so I'd look into that one instead.
Laptop: HP Pavilion 15t, quadboot Obarun Linux, macOS 10.13, TrueOS, Windows 10
Desktop: Dell Inspiron 660, dualboot Artix Linux,Windows 1

Turns out it was a rolling release distro, and sadly it's now discontinued
