Title: Scripts help
Post by: at54tl on April 14, 2019, 05:18:12 AM
Good morning,

I made some simple scripts to make my use of the command line easier, my question is: Where can I place them so that I can run them from any folder that I happen to be in ?

Thank you,

I usually put scripts I made for system wide use into /usr/bin this way the script can be executed by invoking it's name. Example, I made a shell script which allows me to run opensimulator. The script checks to be sure opensim is continuously running, if the software crashed, it will restart the software. I put the script in /usr/bin and now I can invoke the script by running 'opensim'
