Title: Webcam drivers
Post by: w7gsh on November 10, 2016, 03:39:39 PM
I have a Logitech C-525 webcam for my desktop pc.I am running MCOLE 1-16 as my  os.The computer can see it via lsusb, but I cant find a driver for it.Both guvcview and cheese say no video device found.Everything I have found online so far says to download Linux-uvc.I cant get that through either yaourt or pacman.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

It looks like as of kernel 2.6.26 linux-uvc is part of the kernel. On the Arch Wiki is stating that you only need to load the uvcvideo module.
Code: [Select]
/etc/modprobe.d/uvcvideo.conf
options uvcvideo nodrop=1

I've previously had issues getting Logitech cameras working on Linux, however have been using laptops since for anything webcam, so everything seems like it has loaded and worked without issue from the get-go. Hopefully, the above recommendation will work for you. Let us know if you are still running across any issues.
