Cup of Linux RULES
A.K.A. Dirty Helga's Code of Conduct

The rules are simple, ladies - follow them and we'll all get along fine! FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES WILL GET YOU BANNED. Depending on the severity of the offence, BANS MAY BE GIVEN WITHOUT A WARNING! Moderators will award infractions for failure to comply with these guidelines. BEFORE YOU POST ANYTHING BE SURE TO READ THE "POSTING GUIDELINES" HERE!

Forum, WIKI and Chat Room Guidelines

  • Respect Each Other - Do not abuse the site and do not abuse each other. This includes bashing Linux distributions, forcing your opinions on others or displaying an "elitist attitude". If you do not have something nice to say, DO NOT SAY ANYTHING. Belittling someone or unnecessary rudeness on the forum or on any of the chat services will not be tolerated. Take your drama, SJW agendas, FSF propaganda and other forms of controversy elsewhere.
  • No Pornography - This is NOT a porn website, nor do we intend it to become one. Do not post indecent photographs, videos or links of anyone of any gender or of any age. Anyone who does post such material will be immediately banned without warning.
  • Inappropriate Content - Please do not write, send or distribute graphic, violent or otherwise hate filled content through this website. Inappropriate screen names are not allowed. No links to pirated media of any kind.
  • Hate Speech - Please do not attack or slander people on this website.
  • Harassment - Do not stalk or harass members of the community on this website. Do not force your opinions on others. Do not share personal information about other users.
  • SPAMMING - POSTING LINKS WITHOUT A DESCRIPTION and/or Graphics is considered SPAM. Also, UNAPPROVED advertising or SOLICITING for PERSONAL DONATIONS is not allowed. IF YOU MUST ADVERTISE for any reason, YOU MUST contact SPATRY to negotiate terms.
  • Display Names & Accounts - If you wish to display a different screen name other than your login you may do so in your profile settings. Please keep your naming conventions SANE... One or two word names are acceptable, long names like "Gordon, ruler of the universe" ARE NOT! Do not create a new account to change your screen name. Only one account per person is allowed. Duplicate accounts will be deleted by staff members. The names 'Spatry' and 'Cup of Linux' or any derivative thereof are reserved for administrators. Staff reserves the right to modify screen names and notify users of said changes by email. Images in signatures cannot be larger than w640 x y100.
  • SUPPORT - Please post your questions on the FORUM and wait for a response. After you have posted your question on the forum you may direct people to your post in the chatroom or Mumble voice server. DO NOT use the IM system for support questions unless someone asked you to.
  • Staff - Spatry has given full authority to staff members to award bans and infractions. If you are banned from any of the services (Forum, Chatroom, Wiki or Mumble) this community offers, you are banned from ALL Cup of Linux services.
  • Videos - Only LINUX RELATED YouTube videos may be posted in the Linux sections. Other videos go in OFF TOPIC. When posting YouTube videos change the url from "https://" to "http://" and your video will display properly.
  • Language - This bulletin board is open to ALL AGES. PLEASE GOVERN YOUR LANGUAGE! Minimum age requirement to join the community is 13.
  • Housekeeping - Please post your topics in the correct categories. BEFORE POSTING... Please use the SEARCH function. Your question or item of interest may have already been covered. This prevents duplicate topics and keeps the board orderly. START A NEW THREAD rather than responding to posts older than 6 months old.
  • Have fun! Let people know what you think and report to staff members anything you feel breaks these rules via the report button.

Mumble Voice Chat Policy

All of the forum rules apply on the Mumble chat server with the following additions:
  • Registration is required. You cannot talk or type unless you are registered. Moderators will register you once you have read these rules and you verbally state that you will comply with them. Mobile users cannot register unless you use the "Plumble" App and you have already generated a certificate. Otherwise, please use "Mobile" in your name so we can identify and unmute you.
  • Use the "Push to talk" feature. Do not talk over other people. Only one person talking at a time. It's Common Sense. No different than a face-to-face conversation.
  • The Lounge is for general Linux or Technology related discussions. When someone requests help, move to one of the Help Desk rooms for troubleshooting. Off Topic rooms are exactly what they are.
  • When in the Help Desk rooms, the discussion is limited to the problem at hand. Other users are welcome to listen, but should refrain from offering any comments not related to the problem at hand.
  • Please use the SAME user name on Mumble as your user name on the forum.
  • No filibustering. Do not hog the microphone. Give others a chance to speak. It is proper etiquette.
  • Recording conversations is NOT permitted unless you have permission from everyone in the chat room. The podcast room is for pre-recording LIVE shows for streaming on YouTUBE and other media websites.
  • YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE REGISTERED TO ENTER OUR MUMBLE CHANNEL TO LISTEN TO A LIVE PODCAST. Non-registered users are allowed to be present 30 minutes before and after the show. Non-registered visitors can only listen, typing and speech are not permitted. This prevents miscreants from ruining everyone's enjoyment of the show.

If you break the rules I have nasty countermeasures at my disposal!  Ignorance is no excuse. When you registered, you indicated that you agree to read the rules and comply with them. Do not say you have not been warned.
