Lutris is by far the best for for anything related to Windows games or applications on linux. You create an account and log into the client as well. You can link scripts to your account and then execute these scripts within the client. It auto-configures Wine settings with certain version as well as it includes dxck. Dxvk is DirectX to Vulkan converter. Check it out and tell me what you think!

Yes I have looked at Lutris before and I have it installed... just have not taken the time to play with it... Still enjoying Skyrim with Proton!

Some games work like a pro, others tend to have issues. Whether it is issues with fps or lag spikes, others play really well. I have noticed that Proton on Linux Mint 19 did not do so well with my GTX 960.
