« on: February 25, 2015, 04:40:18 PM »
Is there a software manager included with manjaro by mm?  My ISO downloaded from his page seems to be missing some things.  :-(

Manjaro does not ship with a software center like Ubuntu. Instead you right click the STAR icon on your panel and choose "Package Manager" which opens an application similar in appearance to "Synaptic" which ships on Debian and Ubuntu derivatives. I use "yaourt" in the terminal when I am searching for packages I want to install" Example:

yaourt photoshopwhich gives a result like this:
Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
1 aur/abr2gbr 1.0.2-1 (4)
    Converts PhotoShop .ABR and Paint Shop Pro .JBR brushes to GIMP .GBR.
2 aur/gdk-pixbuf-psd 0.1.0-1 (31)
    A GdkPixbuf loader for the PSD (Adobe Photoshop) file format
3 aur/gimp-photoshop-brush 1.0-1 (41)
    A Gimp plugin for loading photoshop brushes
4 aur/gimp-photoshop-pattern 1.0-1 (41)
    A Gimp plugin for loading photoshop patterns
5 aur/gimp-plugin-pspi 1.0.7-5 (14)
    Pspi is a GIMP plug-in that runs 3rd-party Photoshop plug-in filters.
6 aur/gimp-theme-progimp 1.1-2 (12)
    A small, grey Photoshop-like theme for Gimp
7 aur/wine-photoshop 0-1 (0)
    A compatibility layer for running Windows programs, patched for Photoshop
==> Enter n° of packages to be installed (ex: 1 2 3 or 1-3)
==> -------------------------------------------------------
==>
Obviously photoshop is not available on Linux, rather I found plugins for the Gimp. yaourt can also be used to uninstall applications

yaourt -r gimpOne of these days I should make a video detailing all of the things you can do with Manjaro CLI package utilities.

Thanks, Spatry, got it figured out!  I was looking for a standalone program like in Ubuntu but you lead me in the right direction.
