Title: [SOLVED] 32-bit version
Post by: drum on April 05, 2014, 04:44:15 AM
Hi Spatry, just did a new install on my netbook of your 32-bit version and has seen this few things:
- there is no default wallpaper
- the f12 button for the terminal does not work for me
- when i use Compiz as window manager i can not select the 'spatry' borders it stays on 'borderless'
- in thunar there are no maps

Maybe some of this things are because my netbook is'nt that great on the specs:
intel atom n455 1.66 Ghz
1024 mb, ddr3

Intel GMA graphics Drum?

I'm downloading the 32-bit now, and will try it on my MSI Wind and report back.

I ran it live on my desktop (also intel GMA gfx) straight after downloading and i can confirm the lack of wallpapers, but the f12 terminal worked for me on this machine. I didn't get the chance to play with the borders and Compiz though.

I will try an install on my comparable netbook later today and will post my findings along with that machine's specs.

Cheers!

ps: it looks great though and was very speedy!

You cannot change window manager borders while running compuz in the XFCE settings... SWitch to XFWM4 then you can change the,/ I will be working on the other bugs today

Great work, Spatry.  I am running a LiveUSB now (I really need more computers to play with different distros on).  It seems like the same thing that happened in Matt's first release (for me anyway).  The Wallpapers ARE there and if (this is to everyone else) you browse to "/usr/share/backgrounds/(?Spatry/" then they will show up fine.

I am still poking around and seeing whats different between this and Stock Manjaro (Whats become my favorite distro) and Matthew Moore's Respin.

Overall, I love it and haven't hit any major bugs just yet.

Again, Nice Work

Just downloaded the new 32bit version.

Everything seems to be working fine here (in live mode) except still no wallpapers (unless i manually select the correct folder).
f12 good here still, Emerald themes are now switchable.

Ive automatically used 64bit distros on my ageing Lenova T400 lappie but wondering if i should just install the 32 bit version. Will it save on resources at all?

Essentially they are both the same. It is my understanding that 64 bit offers a slight but unnoticeable performance improvement.

Cheers Spatry, I will wait for your revised version tonight before downloading. Nice work too BTW. If i get it working i'll definitely make a contribution for each release.
